The Factual/Circumstance Investigation

Post by Admin on Tue Apr 02, 2013 10:01 am

Investigations typically involve conducting enquiries into the circumstances surrounding certain events where personal injury, damage, theft or loss has occurred, ie:-

Workers' Compensation claims
Motor vehicle accident claims
Commercial residential, business and motor vehicle claims, ie. burglary, theft, loss etc
Public Liability claims
Product Liability claims
Business Interruption claims
Professional Indemnity claims
Medical Indemnity claims
Disease claims

Factual Investigation will usually involve, but may not necessarily be confined to:-

Interviewing injured parties, witnesses and other relevant parties and obtaining Statements or other formal evidence
Inspecting work sites and accident scenes
Obtaining photographs and/or video film
Inspecting records
Conducting background employment checks
Researching Australian Standards and other reference and resource material
Providing a detailed report on findings
Once gathered and collated, this information allows the client to make an informed decision on liability and/or the manner in which the claim should be handled.
